I should note that I do have my pi overclocked to 2 ghz on the cpu and 600 MHz on the gpu. Performance is excellent on Naomi and Atomiswave is generally good with a few that perform poorly. I took a very strict approach as outlined above but I was able to get all of my roms working first try and have curated a decent amount from both Naomi and Atomiswave. I strongly recommend that you go to reputable sites for your roms since mismatched versions are normally the reason for a lot of the issues you’re facing. See below for guidance on how to do this. You’ll need to edit your es_systems.cfg file to add the custom system. I’ve not experimented with running these from the Dreamcast folder and instead placed them in a separate Naomi folder within the Roms directory. For example Capcom vs SNK 2 will require the MAME rom (zip file) and CHD directory, typically the same name as the parent rom, in the rom directory. Naomi needs a MAME rom and quite a few will need a CHD along with it. So I’ve been spending the weekend getting these working and it’s quite straightforward if you take the time to do it right and know where to look.
